The Hike:
A spectacular and varied walk through the best viewpoints of the Goring Gap, taking in high ridges, riverside paths, and historic hilltop tracks. This circular route sets off from Goring & Streatley Station, climbing quickly to reveal sweeping views from Streatley Hill and the open ridges above Moulsford Downs.
The walk offers a rewarding mix of scenery, including chalk grassland, wooded slopes, and peaceful farmland trails. We continue along the ridge before descending through tranquil valleys and heading towards the River Thames.
The return brings us along beautiful sections of the Thames Path, following the river as it carves its iconic route through the chalk hills of the Goring Gap.

Route Highlights:
- Ridge views from Streatley Hill and Moulsford Downs, with classic Goring Gap vistas
- Peaceful countryside tracks through Uphill Wood, Thurle Down, and Han Wood - A stunning descent into the Goring Gap, where river meets ridge
- Long riverside section along the Thames Path with chances to spot kingfishers and red kites
- Finish in the charming riverside village of Goring, ideal for a post-walk pub or café stop
