What we’re about
Welcome to Adventure People! This group is for everyone who loves to hike, kayak, rock climb, and anything that gets us outdoors. We have a great team of organizers who schedule local outdoor activities, social events, and weekend camping trips. We also do small group trips to destinations around the world.
Some of the things we've done include watching the Northern Lights in Iceland, hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, rappelling down waterfalls in Costa Rica, trekking on a glacier in Argentina, hiking the W Trek in Chile, climbing a volcano in Hawaii, visiting the country's national parks, exploring the world's most spectacular caves in Vietnam, salsa dancing lessons in Cuba, and that's just a few.
Adventure People all have one thing in common, we want to travel the world and have fun doing it. We're explorers, not tourists. Regardless of where you go and what you do, it's the people you share the experience with that you'll remember the most. What you'll find in Adventure People is that we're a fun, active, adventurous, welcoming group of friends. By joining our community and participating in our local and international trips, you'll not only have a new group of friends but new travel companions with whom you'll want to share more experiences. That's why you'll always see repeat travelers on all of our trips!

At Orca Camp, kayaking is the primary activity, next to always keeping your eyes out for Orcas, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to paddle. The advantage of basecamp is that you can paddle as much or as little as you would like. Kayaking is daily, and you’ll enjoy a shore lunch on a beach you’ve paddled to. Guides tailor all paddling excursions to the group’s ability, dynamic, and of course weather conditions: so paddle itineraries vary. Guests looking to do more whale watching from the beach are welcome to opt out of any paddling excursion, and guests wishing for more time on the water are encouraged to arrange with guides a sunset or sunrise paddle!
While Orcas will pass by most beaches in Johnstone Strait at some point or another, this beach has been a central point for Orca encounters for decades because a steep pebble dropoff creates an ideal belly-rubbing site for killer whales. Moreover, this unique landscape also forms a “corral” which the orcas use to herd their salmon dinners. View these spectacular behaviors from a rocky outcrop on the water and see orcas up close - without disturbing them.
