I changed the title for June to emphasize queer inclusiveness. Trans folks aren't very visible in the Denver improv scene, especially us trans femme folk. While inclusiveness is always a goal of anything I run, this June, let's go above and beyond to cultivate queer visibility and queer love
First timers get a free drink. Regular participants will be considered for the performing squad. If you already have theatre/acting/improv experience, we're actively recruiting folks for ambitious projects.
We started the improv scene in Colorado back in the 90's. Since then, "Improv Comedy" has taken over the scene. That ain't us. We joke, we clown, and some of us will even play "the game," but we're far more interested in narrative. I'll even teach avant garde improv here and there. But we're leagues apart from most of what you'll see in the Denver area.
While most improv in this town is focused on getting laughs at all cost, we're focused on being stories. Improv, as an artform, is beautiful because of its ability to liberate the players and its audience.
