East Fork of the White River and Southern Indiana Ren Faire

Details
66 and mostly sunny! Let's paddle a short but beautiful section of the East Fork of the White river and then head over to the Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire for fun and food.
DETAILS:
We'll meet on the north side of Seymour at the Rockford boat ramp. This is where they removed the lowhead dam that I did some videos on last year. We'll run the shuttle and then paddle down to the Bell Ford boat ramp. This is approximately 4 miles of sand/gravel bars and islands. We'll enjoy lots of wildlife this time of the year we could see turtles laying eggs and baby turtles along our way. The geese and ducks are nesting as well. This is also one of the best sections of this river for rockhounding that I have found....so far ;)
We WILL NOT BE STOPPING FOR LUNCH. I know, we always stop for lunch. This is different! I'm going to the Faire in a very hungry state. Possibly bordering on HANGRY. Bring drinks and snacks for the river though.
WARNINGS:
This is an OPEN WATER paddle. There will be NO OVERHEAD COVER. Please be prepared with SUN PROTECTION and HYDRATION SOURCES.
This is a COLD WATER paddle. Actually, the water is warming up nicely. However, some people are more susceptible to HYPOTHERMIA. I would suggest bringing a set of dry clothes because accidents do happen.
Afterwards, we'll head over to the SIRF. IT'S FANTASY WEEKEND! I'll put a link to them on my Facebook post about this. This is just south of Seymour along US 31. This is right off of I65, exit 41, so it's convenient to get to. This will be our third year going and we always have a great time. There are tons of food options. If you're looking for a turkey leg, you are in luck! They have multiple stages with shows and jousting all day. Did I mention the food? They also have tons of vendors situated around a large pond. This is located at Swifty Farms and it's like a beautiful park. The walk around the Faire is entertaining too. There are always lots of random things that you'll encounter. COME ON OUT!
Rentals for this adventure will be $60 for a solo kayak (sit-in or sit-on available) and $100 dollars for a tandem (2-person sit on tops only). I offer a military and first responders discount. Give me a call or message me if you need a rental.
