What we're about

Welcome to Bristol & South West Adventure Sports! (previously known as "Bristol & South West Extreme").

Are you looking to meet new people in the area, whilst trying your hand at something totally different and outside of your comfort zone? Then this is the group for you! We're famed for organising lots of fun and adventurous activities - from wakeboarding and surfing, to kayaking trips, climbing and abseiling, clay pigeon shooting, trips to goApe, go-karting, race driving and stunt driving, sky-diving, bungee jumping, flying trapeze, walks, regular social nights (down the pub), and even trips abroad. And many, many more. So, throw caution to the wind, and join up today!

We're by far the most active group in the area for this kind of thing, so have always got something coming up. Take a look at our calendar for past and future events, read some reviews, and check out our videos and photos, to get a flavour of what we're all about.

Hope to welcome you to an event soon :-)

Cheers

Matt

North Nibley 4miles walk +(Possible Sunset near the Monument)

Needs a location

Yup, I am hosting another Sunset walk.

Meet up opposite the pub.

4 mile, almost circular walk. Up a steep hill at the start, from North Nibley, loop around the local woodland then to the Tower, Tyndale's Monument.

Please can everyone make sure they are there before 19:45 to give us plenty of time to hopefully catch a gorgeous Sunset near the Tower.

Catching the Sunset also means we will be walking back in the Dark, so you may want to bring a torch for the last bit.

Also after the walk, we could possibly pop to the pub for an evening meal.

Disclaimer: I am not qualified in first aid so people are taking these walks at their own risk.

Frampton On Severn 4 mile flat evening walk (+possible sunset)

Needs a location

Please meet outside of the Three Horseshoes Pub to start the walk.
The walk is a 4 mile circular flat walk through Frampton On Severn to the local canal at Saul Junction.
We will then walk along the canal to Splatt Bridge hopefully catching the sunset on the way.

There is a village car park opposite side of the green to the Three Horseshoes Pub. Which everyone may find easier to park at.

Also anyone who arrived a couple of hours early.
I do plan to grab food and drink in the pub before the walk... They do a very tasty Three Shoe Pie 😋

Disclaimer: I am not first aid trained so everyone takes this walk at there own risk

Saturday Surf Session

Location visible to members

Hello everyone 😀 Another Sunday session on the horizon. All abilities welcome so come on down! Lessons available, see below

We will meet at the benches in front of the entrance to the Surf School at 11:00. I will wear a bright orange hoody over my wetsuit so you can find me easily. We’ll then head on down to the water at 11:15. People can stay for as little or as long as they like.

High tide: 09:44. Low tide: 15:37.

Parking cost during Summer: All Day £4 cash

If you’d like to come along but not surf, then there is a nice walk along the coastal path, mountain bike and Fat Bike hire available at the Surf School, and a nice cafe with a view over the ocean providing snacks/drinks. The more the merrier 🤗

To rent suits and boards, or book a lesson, check out the surf school’s website: https://www.porthcawlsurf.co.uk

Croyde Surf Camp Weekend ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ £30.60pp

Needs a location

Hello happy campers 🤗 An opportunity to enjoy a glorious weekend of camping + surfing in the beautiful village of Croyde, North Devon! We have 10 spaces + 4 cars booked for two nights and three days at £30.60 per person. All surfing abilities welcome - I myself am a beginner! And for those who don't fancy surfing, the walk along the coast is stunning. This will be a loosely-structured trip of camping, surfing, good food and great company. It'll look something like:

Friday: We'll meet at 13:00, set up camp and head on down to the beach. We'll then head back to camp in the evening for a barbecue together (People will of course need to bring everything we will need such as food and barbecues).
Saturday: Breakfast at camp/the village, surfing/exploring throughout the day with a barbecue on the beach for lunch (we can purchase food to cook from the village or Tesco which is a 20min drive away). In the evening, we'll gather for dinner: such as curry/pizza on the beach or pub grub at The Thatch. Either way, we'll likely end up in the pub with live music/pool at the end of the evening.
Sunday: Breakfast at camp/the local cafe, pack up camp by 10:30 and move cars to the National Trust car park, surfing/exploring throughout the day, head home in the afternoon/evening.

Extra useful info:

Link to the campsite: https://www.croydebay.co.uk
- Campsite is family-friendly - Have to keep the noise down after 10pm.
- Good shower and toilet facilities on-site.
- Open fires not allowed, only disposable/gas BBQs.
- Food options during the day: there is a food truck on-site, ice cream, a small corner shop, a restaurant, and a cafe in the village.
- Tesco a 20min drive away for any other needs.
- Craft Market on Sundays
- Surfboard, suit and bodyboard rental by the beach.

There are only 10 spaces and 4 cars available. Car sharing is encouraged. I have space for 1 person in my car plus a board of up to 7’ 6”. There is a possibility of adding one or two extra people if the campsite has the availability still at the time of request. You’re welcome to message me about this and we can see if it can be sorted. The tents you bring must be appropriate in size for the number of people in it otherwise we may not all fit on the pitches we’ve booked. If you need to check sizing at all drop me a message.

Due to the limited availability of accommodation this summer and thus limited spaces on this event, payment is required within 48hrs of marking yourself as attending. If payment not received during this period, attendees will be removed to allow others to book on.

To send payment, please add reference of your name so I am sure who’s money I have received and let me know via message that you have sent payment and I will confirm that I have received it. My bank details are:
