May Bank Holiday - Exmoor Hiking Weekend – Coast & Moorlands - 4 days / 3 Nights
Countisbury Hill, Lynmouth, GBJoin us for a 4-day hiking adventure through one of England’s most dramatic and varied landscapes — Exmoor National Park. With towering coastal cliffs, peaceful wooded valleys, heather-topped moors, and charming coastal villages, Exmoor is the perfect escape for women seeking fresh air, freedom, and friendly company.

You’ll be part of a supportive, welcoming group — with plenty of time to immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the quiet beauty of the South West coastline.
We’ll be staying in the National Trust Exmoor Bunkhouse near Lynmouth — simple, cosy and exclusively for our group.
Expect shared bunk rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, communal bathrooms, and a combined living/dining area for relaxing together after our hikes.
Over the four days, you’ll explore Exmoor’s most iconic landscapes, including the spectacular Valley of the Rocks, the lush Watersmeet Valley, the historic Badgworthy Moors, and dramatic coastal cliff paths looking across to Wales.
Planned Walks
Day 1 – Foreland Point Lighthouse
8.5 km | 400 m ascent | ~2.5–3 hrs | Grade 2 (Moderate)A beautiful warm-up walk with a mix of forest paths, cliff-top trails and sweeping sea views across the Bristol Channel. Shorter in distance but with steady climbing — perfect for easing into the weekend.
Day 2 – Lynton, Lynmouth & Watersmeet Valley
10 km | 800 m ascent | ~4–5 hrs | Grade 3.5 (Challenging)
A spectacular but steep day exploring one of Exmoor’s finest river gorges. Follow the East Lyn River to the sea, enjoy free time in Lynton & Lynmouth, and return through ancient woodland. A shorter distance but a big, challenging climb — the toughest day of the trip and incredibly rewarding.Day 3 – Malsmead & Badgworthy Moors
14 km | 400 m ascent | ~4–5 hrs | Grade 2.5 (Moderate-Challenging)A classic moorland route exploring remote and atmospheric landscape. Follow in the footsteps of the Lawless Doone family and keep an eye out for Exmoor’s wild ponies as we cross open moors and peaceful valleys.
Day 4 – Valley of the Rocks Coastal Loop
9 km | 520 m ascent | ~3–4 hrs | Grade 2.5 (Moderate–Challenging)A dramatic finale through one of Exmoor’s most iconic landscapes. This shorter but punchy route includes steep sections, rugged coastal cliffs, striking rock formations, and the famous feral goats, before looping inland through woodland and quiet valleys. A fantastic end to the weekend.
Overall Trip Grade: 2.5 – Moderate–Challenging

• Expect a mix of moderate and steeper climbs

National Trust Exmoor Bunkhouse – Exclusive Use for Our Group
We’ll be staying at the National Trust Exmoor Bunkhouse — a simple, cosy and sociable base set in beautiful countryside near Lynmouth. The entire bunkhouse is booked exclusively for Adventure Women, giving us our own private space for the weekend.Expect shared bunk rooms, communal bathrooms, and a well-equipped kitchen.
The living area also doubles as the dining area, creating a relaxed and friendly space for meals, planning the day’s walks, and unwinding together. There’s also outdoor seating where we can enjoy the views and fresh air. Summit Snowdon – Eryri Hiking Weekend – Bank Holiday Weekend – 3 days / 2 nights
Sychnant Pass Road, Conwy, GBJoin us for an inspiring Bank Holiday weekend in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, centred around the challenge of summiting Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) via the quieter and more adventurous Rhyd Ddu & South Ridge route.
This women-only hiking weekend combines one iconic mountain day with two beautifully scenic supporting walks, taking in waterfalls, wooded valleys, mountain lakes and expansive Welsh landscapes.
It’s designed for women who want to challenge themselves, build confidence on steeper terrain, and experience Snowdonia in a supportive, friendly and well-led environment.
We’ll be based in Conwy, close to the coast and historic castle, providing a practical and sociable base for the weekend. Expect big views, a real sense of achievement, and the shared experience that Adventure Women trips are known for.

Day 1 – Aber Falls

A beautiful warm-up walk through a wooded valley to one of Snowdonia’s most impressive waterfalls. Aber Falls tumbles over a dramatic cliff face and is the perfect way to ease into the weekend after travelling.Day 2 – Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) via Rhyd Ddu & South Ridge
12 km | 900 m ascent | ~7 hrs | Grade 3+ (Challenging–Tough)
The highlight of the weekend. We’ll tackle Yr Wyddfa via the quieter Rhyd Ddu & South Ridge, a superb mountain route offering sustained climbing, dramatic views and sections of light scrambling and ridges. This is a full mountain day and a real sense-of-achievement walk, fully supported throughout.Day 3 – Llyn Geirionydd & Llyn Crafnant (Two Lakes Walk)
10 km | 330 m ascent | ~3–4 hrs | Grade 2 (Moderate)
A scenic and satisfying final walk around two beautiful mountain lakes, following woodland paths, reservoir tracks and open views — a calmer but still rewarding way to finish the weekend.Overall Trip Grade: 3+ – Challenging–Tough

Isle of Wight Hiking Weekend – Coastal Paths, Downs & Beaches - 4 days/ 3 Nights
Bembridge, Down PO36 8QY, Isle of Wight, GBJoin us for an unforgettable long weekend exploring the diverse and beautiful landscapes of the Isle of Wight.
This Adventure Women UK trip combines dramatic coastal walking, rolling chalk downs, woodland trails and historic landmarks, all balanced with relaxed evenings and a supportive women-only group.
Over four days, we’ll discover some of the island’s most iconic scenery — from the towering chalk stacks of The Needles and panoramic ridge walks high above the sea, to hidden beaches, ancient burial mounds and peaceful woodlands known for their red squirrel populations.
Each day offers a different flavour of the island, showcasing just how varied and rewarding walking on the Isle of Wight can be. This trip is ideal if you’re looking for a mix of challenge and enjoyment, with walks that feel adventurous without being rushed.
As always, the atmosphere is friendly, inclusive and supportive — whether you’re coming solo or with a friend.
Our base for the weekend is The Lakes Rookley, where we’ll stay in comfortable lakeside lodges surrounded by countryside. Evenings are relaxed and sociable, with the option to eat out locally, use the on-site facilities or self-cater in your lodge.
The Walks
Day 1 – Culver Down & Bembridge Circular
13 km | 223 m ascent | ~3.5-4 hrs | Grade 2.5 (Moderate)A scenic introduction to the weekend, combining coastal views, historic landmarks and quiet beaches. Starting near Bembridge Windmill, the island’s oldest surviving windmill, we’ll walk through rolling countryside towards Culver Down, where wide views open up along the coastline.
Day 2 – Brook Bay, Mottistone & Brightstone Down Circular
16.5 km | 479 m ascent | ~5–6 hrs | Grade 3 (Moderate–Challenging)
A beautifully varied inland and coastal-edge walk across some of the Isle of Wight’s most open and atmospheric landscapes. Starting near Brook Bay, we head inland through rolling countryside to the historic village of Mottistone, before climbing onto Brightstone Down for wide-ranging views across the island. This route combines chalk downland, quiet tracks, farmland and woodland, with long stretches of open walking and a real sense of space.The higher sections offer panoramic views, while the lower paths provide shelter and variety underfoot, making this an engaging and rewarding day on the trail. It’s a steady but achievable day with sustained climbs and descents, perfectly suited to walkers who enjoy longer distances and changing terrain.
Day 3 – Fort Victoria, Freshwater Bay & The Needles
19 km | 441 m ascent | ~6–7 hrs | Grade 3.5 (Challenging / Tough)A standout coastal day showcasing the very best of the Isle of Wight. From Fort Victoria, we’ll follow the coastline past Colwell Bay and Totland, before climbing Tennyson Down for breathtaking views across to The Needles and the coloured sands of Alum Bay. We’ll visit The Needles Battery (National Trust), descend to Freshwater Bay for a well-earned break, and return via woodland and farmland trails.
Day 4 – Ventnor Downs & Appuldurcombe Circular 13 km | 388 m ascent | ~4–5 hrs | Grade 3 (Challenging)
Our final walk explores the Ventnor Downs, the highest point on the Isle of Wight, combining open chalk downland, woodland paths and historic parkland into a rewarding circular route.
From Ventnor, we climb steadily onto the downs, where expansive views stretch across the island and out to sea. The route then descends through sheltered woodland before passing the impressive ruins of Appuldurcombe House, a grand 18th-century mansion set within rolling countryside. We continue through quieter tracks and farmland before a final climb back onto higher ground, offering one last set of wide-ranging views to finish the walking day. At the end of the walk, there is the option to descend to nearby Steephill Cove, a beautiful hidden beach and one of the island’s most charming spots — perfect for a relaxed seaside stop, paddle or ice cream before heading home.
A slightly shorter day in distance, but still a satisfying and scenic finale with a good mix of climbs, descents and classic Isle of Wight landscapes.

We’ll be staying at The Lakes Rookley, a relaxed rural setting on the Isle of Wight, offering a comfortable lakeside base for our long weekend of walking. The setting combines open countryside with practical on-site facilities, making it well suited to an active Adventure Women trip. We’ll have exclusive use of four lakeside lodges, each with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living and dining areas, and shared social spaces — ideal for relaxing together in the evenings after a day on the trails.Bedrooms are arranged as either twin-share rooms (two single beds) or private double rooms for those who prefer their own space.
The site also offers a range of useful facilities, including an indoor and outdoor heated swimming pool (perfect for a post-walk dip),
