Join us for an walk in and around Tring - Chilterns - Area of outstanding Natural Beauty
This is a medium level Circular hike Starting from Tring Station, Hertfordshire.
Area - Chilterns
County - Hertfordshire
Length - 14 miles / 22 km
Ascent - 1400 feet / 420 metres
Grade - Medium
Total Hike - Approx 6 hours walking time
Meet @ 9am finish at around 3.30pm
Starting at Tring station we will head south towards Tring park, we will Walk onto Wendover woods before joining the Outer Ayeslbury Ring trail, heading north we will pass Tringford, Startop and Marsworth reservoirs before joining the towpath of the grand union canal, from here we head back to Tring station.
The landscape is a mix of open farmlands, access land, woodland, reservoirs and canals.
The first half of the walk is fairly hilly and this flatterns out for the second half.
Tring Station by the ticket office (not the main carpark side).
What to wear/ bring:
You MUST bring antibacterial hand gel
Please dress for the weather, our walks will go ahead in most weather (rain or shine) We advise you always carry a waterproof jacket with you.
Please check the weather and bring Sun cream/ hat etc. if it is warm / Waterproofs if it is wet.
We will be walking through woodland, there will be nettles/ risk of tick bites. Trousers/ leggings are recommended.
Please wear walking shoes / boots. Open toe shoes are not suitable.
There may not be any opportunities to buy food or drink on route so please make sure you have what you need.
There will be no public toilets on the route.

You will NOT be allowed to join us until these have been filled out.
This is a moderate level hike with some gentle gradients. You are responsible for your own health & safety and must be fit and well enough to hike continuously for 6-7 hours.
Please bring the right clothing, you will not be able to join if dressed inappropriately.
Our Walks are led by qualified lowland walking leaders with Mountain Training UK and Outdoor First Aiders.
No dogs are allowed on our walks.
Adventure Women is a all female activity group.
Easy- Fairly flat/ under 10 miles. Suitable for beginners
Medium - Some incline and over 10 miles. Beginners may find this challenging but doable for most people.
Hard - Steep inclines and/ or over 15 miles.
Some walking / hill fitness required.
Challenging - Walks on tougher terrain, unsteady ground, hilly, remote areas. Long full days out. Not suitable for beginners.

Herts Young Mariners Base Outdoor Centre
Please come join us for an Chistmas Kayaking session on the lovely Cheshunt Lake in Lee valley Hertfordshire.
Start time 9.45am
End time 1pm
Please arrive 10 mins early so we can get set up.
Cost £20 P/P
No experience needed, all equipment provided.
Pop on your Santa hat and come and join us on Christmas Santa paddle, (fancy dress is optional). It will be followed by mince pies and mulled wine. Suitable for beginners.
Please wear comfortable clothing & dress for the weather, you may get wet so please bring a change of clothing.
Everyone will be provided with a life jacket, kayak and paddle.
Please bring water.
You must bring Anti bacterial hand gel & a face mask. (you may not be able to join in without them)
Herts Young Marina Base
Please head to HYMB
Parking is free - go though the metal gates on the right (don't park in the YHA next door)
The base is located 2 mins from Cheshunt station - reachable from London Liverpool street Parking is free.
We love the sun but if it is having a day off please be aware this activity will still go ahead in the rain. (You will splash yourself anyway!) Please dress for the weather.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes early.
You MUST complete these 2 forms before attending the activity. You will not be permitted to attend without.
