Info & Description - Safety & Attire - registration
INFO & DESCRIPTION: Beginner & Intermediate level. using aerial silks. The class starts with a brief warm up & stretching, followed by strengthening and conditioning drills on the ground and on the aerial apparatus. Participants will improve core strength, work on holding and wrapping techniques as energy savers, and learn an aerial dance repertoire. The principles of aerial dance as a form of performing art is used on poses and transitions to allow for graceful moves on the aerial apparatus. The workout is performed barefoot. Wearing socks is also an option. Participants will be able to build up a personalized aerial workout and dance routine.
SAFETY & ATTIRE: For your safety, the attire must protect the skin from frictions and rubs caused by the aerial apparatuses. Please, wear:
- Ankle fitted, long leg, stretchy cotton leggings (no capri)
- Preferably a leotard or a long, fitted below hips sleeved top (hopefully cotton)
The attire must be fitted and must cover the whole body (with exception of head, neck, hands and feet) to ensure that no parts of the body are uncovered during the aerial workout. Baggy attire will get trapped in the wraps or around the aerial apparatus, with the result of tearing parts of the attire itself.
For your safety, while using the aerial apparatus, please, NO JEWELRY, NO ZIPPERS, NO SHARP OR METAL PARTS ON ATTIRE, NO WATCHES OR FIT TRACK DEVICES. Sharp parts and jewelry can also rip the aerial apparatus. The instructor will ask you to remove these parts.
It is highly recommended to have hair on a bun or a ponytail.
For hygiene purposes, please, wash your hands and feet before class starts. Thanks!
