The cultural scene is a vibrant part of the Research Triangle Park area in North Carolina. The African & African American Arts Meetup group hosts and attends engaging events and activities throughout the community. From dance and theater to fine arts, music, and festivals, come experience the wonder, excitement and significance of African and African American arts in the Triangle.

Flyn' West - It's a Powerful Play!!
Burning Coal Theatre, 224 Polk St, Raleigh, NC, USFour formerly enslaved women journey West after the Civil War in search of something once unimaginable—the freedom to own land, shape their own futures, and build a thriving community on their own terms. Set in Nicodemus, Kansas, a historic all-Black town, their journey becomes a powerful story of sisterhood, courage, love, and survival. But when the new lives they’ve fought so hard to build are threatened, they must decide just how far they’ll go to protect them.
