Agents of Understanding - A Cooperative Fellowship Society

Agents of Understanding is a community for people who enjoy meeting new people, playing board games, thoughtful conversation, and exploring ways we can cooperate more effectively as individuals and communities.

Our goal is to create a welcoming space where people can socialize, make new connections, share ideas, and enjoy collaborative experiences together.

Many of our meetups center around board games — especially cooperative games, where players work together to solve problems, overcome challenges, or explore interesting systems. Games are a great way to meet people, think together, and experiment with ideas in a relaxed and social environment.

Along the way, we’re also curious about bigger questions like:

• How do we make sense of the information around us?
• How can communities organize themselves in healthier ways?
• What kinds of economic and social systems encourage cooperation rather than concentration of power and wealth?
• How can we direct our time, energy, and resources toward projects that benefit people more broadly?

Our gatherings may include:

• playing cooperative board games
• experimenting with turning competitive games into cooperative ones
• designing and testing new games together
• games or simulations about social and economic systems
• discussions about current events and ideas
• collaborative analysis of media and information
• informal social events where people simply enjoy meeting thoughtful neighbors

Over time, smaller groups may form around shared interests, projects, or experiments in cooperation, game design, or community initiatives.

The spirit of the group is curious, respectful, and constructive. We’re less interested in arguing about politics and more interested in learning together, experimenting with ideas, and discovering practical ways people can cooperate and strengthen their communities.
