ποΈ Topic Description:
In this session, youβll have a go at asking Clean Questions and getting some experience of what it is like to be asked these types of questions. Youβll get a chance to learn a couple of easy-to-use techniques to improve your collaboration efforts by asking Clean questions. This will be an interactive session where we will use breakout rooms to work in small groups.
Why Clean Questions
A lot of us have had some kind of experience where a misunderstanding has had some (or a lot of) impact on our personal or professional work. When we work together, collaborate, and align we have to rely on our communication, and from studies we learned that a lot of this isn't so much in what we say. However, this doesn't excuse us from putting some attention and effort into it. So cleaning up our language and conversations will enable us to make better use of them. Psychotherapist David Grove found that when we remove our own βstuffβ from the questions we ask we get a better connection and understanding of the other. It also helps the other to stay with their own "stuff" and process more quickly. His method has been developed into a whole host of different applications but all of them have Clean Questions at their core.
π Learning Outcomes:
What we will do today
In this event, we will be looking at how we can be curious about what is happening for others by using Clean Questions and how this might be helpful in your daily (personal and professional) life. You'll learn about some of the background information on David Grove and why he created Clean Questions. You'll experience what these questions do and how you'll get a chance to use them in short conversations on the topic of being curious.
