Navigating the Transformation of Organizations

Overview:

The business world is constantly evolving and changing, and organizations need to adapt quickly and effectively to stay ahead of the competition. Many organizations have adopted Agile methods and practices, but there are still debates over their suitability and success.

Lloyds Banking Group is undergoing one of the largest transformations ever in financial services. We will share some of the experiences we’ve faced throughout the journey, the lessons we learned, and the best practices we developed along the way. We hope that our story will inspire and guide other organizations that are undergoing or planning to undergo a similar transformation journey.

"Local optimizations that harm" - Viktor Didenchuk
We are going to embark on a journey to explore a critical aspect of the work - tuning our processes with local optimizations and how it impacts our productivity. Think of it as navigating through a rabbit hole of complexities and finding our way back to the essence of Agile values. By the end of this presentation, we'll have a better understanding of how to strike the right balance between processes adjustments and their effectiveness.

"Agile Futurespective" - Safal Soni

Long-lived Scrum teams often find themselves in a situation where they have resolved all the problems within their capacity. In such cases, the team might become frustrated with the perceived utility of Sprint Retrospectives, viewing them as unhelpful and a mere waste of time. While a Retrospective involves looking back into the past to identify areas for improvement, a Futurespective shifts the focus forward, encouraging contemplation on the team's aspirations for enhancing effectiveness and work quality. This altered perspective can reveal the team's latent potential, particularly within the current era of organizational transformation, like the one underway at LBG.

"It Ain't Necessarily So" - Chris Matts

The agile manifesto says "We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it.".... but are we? This talk will explain some of the structural issues that mean some terrible ideas spread like wild fire around the agile community and why some brilliant ones never leave the nest. The talk will also introduce an audacious and surprising plan to address the car wreck that is scaled agile. *"It Ain't Necessarily So" is the second track on the album "Age of Consent" by Bronski Beat. It appears that Bronski Beat predicted the current agile community in 1984.
