Details

Hello!

Happy New Year to you all, I hope you had a fantastic break!

Agile London is starting 2025 strong with our first session, hosted by Government Digital Service, on Tuesday 28th January from 5pm.

The Government Digital Service (GDS) supports the public sector to make digital government simpler, clearer and faster for everyone.
At this event you will have the opportunity to meet people from GDS and learn about the world-leading work that it does to design, build and deliver the user experience of government.

You will hear from:

  • Sam Dub and Kuba Bartwicki on building GOV.UK Chat
  • Trang Erskine and Kelly Lee on building a contribution based design system
  • Jack Wears and Katie Meyrick on operating GOV.UK Notify at scale

You will learn:

  • How GDS approaches design and technical choices made at early stages of product development
  • How to foster a community to bring together the latest research, design and development from across government to make sure it’s representative and relevant for its users
  • What it takes to run your platforms at scale - with examples from GOV.UK Notify on how to adapt your teams, manage a user base and how to revisit early decisions when they’re no longer right for you

The event is in person, at the Government Digital Service’s office in Whitechapel. You will need to bring some ID to the event and your sign up name (first name and last name) will need to match to be let into the building.
We’ll start networking at 17:00 and start the talks at 17:30, which will take the format of 3 short presentations, followed by an open Q&A to a panel made up of the presenters until the finish at 19:00.
