Self-Care for Agile Coaches, Servant Leaders and Change Agents with Bob GalenSynopsis:
Servant leadership is a wonderful aspiration. Serving your team, serving your peers, serving your leaders, and serving your organization. It’s an ego-less and selfless posture and central to the agile mindset.
But what often gets lost in all of this service is…service to oneself. We can often neglect to place service to self above the others so that we can serve them all the better. In this collaborative workshop, we will explore the notion of coaching self-care deeply. We’ll investigate several aspects of it, exploring it as more than simply taking time off or exercising. So, as a group, we’ll create a much richer landscape for taking care of yourself.
Then, we’ll take a step back and look at what gets in the way of our self-care. What are the blockers and impediments from ourselves, our teams, and our organizational culture? We will also discuss some ways to overcome those impediments.
Finally, we’ll explore a self-care canvas. Each attendee will spend a bit of quiet and reflection time filling in a part of the canvas. We’ll close the workshop by sharing some discoveries and ahas from the crowd.
