Our Agile Product Open community joins others around the globe on Thursday, March 26th, 2020, on World Retrospective Day. At APO Boston, we’ll explore how product people use (or don’t use) retrospectives in product development to grow, sustain, and improve product outcomes.

Retrospectives are one of the most efficient and effective ways to improve product development. Retrospectives are well-known to the product development community as a means of improving team process, delivery, and team relationships. Product Managers and Product Owners often overlook their usefulness not only for building healthy product development teams, but also improving product outcomes.

We’ll use a multi-part series of activities that follow the structure of a retrospective: Set the Stage, Gather Data, Generate Insights, Decide What to Do, and Retrospect the Retrospective. You leave with a deeper understanding of retrospectives, an experience of participating in a retrospective, and an expanded set of possibilities for how to optimize retrospectives to improve product outcomes. After the event, we’ll send you information to reference about retrospectives.

Participant requirements:

1. Desire to learn and participate
2. Camera turned on (successful distributed events rely on visual cues. we need yours! We don’t care how you look! ;-)
3. Browser and internet connection

Tools we’ll use:
Zoom with video and Retrium. (A link info to Zoom will be provided in your registration confirmation; during the live event you will get the link for the Retrium-based activities).

All are welcome. You might be experienced in integrating retrospectives into your product management or product ownership work, and in being an active participant in product development team retros. Alternatively, you may be new to retrospectives, or to the idea of using them as a product management tool.
