Authentic Facilitation: Navigating In-Person, Hybrid, and Remote Realities

Details
Talk Overview
Have you ever been part of a hybrid meeting as a remote attendee, and felt like you were missing out despite their best efforts? Did you know there are techniques facilitators can use to create an eerily similar experience for those online as those attending in-person?
In this era of all types of work - in-person, hybrid, and remote - facilitators are tasked with navigating the many dynamics of meetings and workshops in multiple realities. It’s actually a fun challenge to have, since there are so many techniques and experiments you can try each time, and no two sessions are the same. Creativity, confidence, and courage is key, as well as having the right tools in your facilitation toolkit. In this talk, Diana will share her experience facilitating different kinds of sessions, tools she has used, and steps she took to make it an inclusive, productive experience for all.
Diana’s Bio
Diana De Cotiis is a Senior Scrum Master with the Government of British Columbia with 7 years of facilitation experience. She has worked with different product teams over the years and also facilitates workshops for the broader government organization in many formats: in-person, hybrid, and remote. She believes that humanizing workshops is a game-changer.
Diana has certifications in CSM, A-CSM, CSP-SM, CSPO, Visual Facilitation Practices, Digital Leadership, and has taken Cognitive Inclusion coaching. She is also in the process of obtaining her credential as an Associate Certified Coach through the ICF, with a focus on Agile Coaching.
