Title: Coach, Teacher, Consultant - Confused?
Speakers: John Barratt (CEC) & Helen Meek (CEC & Kanban Trainer)

Some people believe agile coaches should only coach, others believe we should give customers the answers they have paid us to give. With the level of divide building is the term ‘agile coach’ even the right one? where do Organisations turn for help? What skills should they be looking for? and what certifications can help identify a good fit?

During this interactive session, we will explore real-world scenarios, gauge opinion from the audience and explore multiple approaches to serve the client.

By the end of this session, you will have a more balanced view of what approaches an agile coach can take in different situations and for organisations additional clarity on what qualities to look for when looking for help.

Title : The role of leaders in Agile transformations (30min)
Speaker: Achilles Chatzianastassiou

Time in time again, we have observed that Agile transformation plans fail, predominantly due to increased focus on the delivery side of the business, and very little to none, on the leadership side.
In order to achieve an Agile transformation, a company has to adapt its practices and mindset from within. A shift from managing people to leading people is imperative to this process. Agile encourages self-organization, and leaders should strive to facilitate that, be the first ones to embrace change and promote trust. Strong leadership makes for happier employees and higher performance, yet for some reason, certain businesses fail to achieve those. How can we hire and train leaders who can support an Agile Transformation?

Speaker Bio:
I worked as a software developer in my early career years and particularly in .NET C# as a full stack developer. Practiced TDD and CI/CD almost from the start. I did my CSM in 2012 and started practicing Scrum, as a Scrum Master / Software developer. I decided to focus on Scrum as a full-time Scrum Master, and I quickly found myself preaching Agile not only to my Scrum teams, but throughout the companies I worked for. I am interested in large organizations that are trying to introduce Agile, and I try to assist them from drawing up a strategy plan on how to roll out Agile, to implementing it. I am particularly interested in what makes good leaders, and how to help them adopt a more Agile mindset.
I was an Agile Coach at ING’s Agile transformation where I helped create end to end autonomous teams, over a cross border tribe (Belgium – Netherlands) and adopt the Spotify model of Tribe, Chapters, and Guilds.
Currently I am assisting Vodafone’s Infotainment division to adopt a more Agile mindset and implement better ways of working, on a leadership level.
I have also worked for PaddyPower-Betfair, Lloyds Banking Group as an Agile Coach, as well as other large organizations as a Scrum Master and Agile Coach.
