Workshop: “From Obstacles to Outcomes” (FOTO), with Mike Burrows

🍏 In this 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 we're going to play 15-minute FOTO (From Obstacles to Outcomes), the Clean Language-inspired (and Creative Commons) coaching game described in Mike's 2018 book "Agendashift: Outcome-oriented change and continuous transformation".

Y͟o͟u͟ ͟w͟i͟l͟l͟ ͟e͟x͟p͟e͟r͟i͟e͟n͟c͟e͟:͟

• How to go "from obstacles to outcomes" (hence the name "FOTO")
• How to clarify 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 your own assumptions on the conversation
• How to stay curious as you help your client explore (model) a mental landscape

Afterwards we'll look at (and perhaps try) some ways to capture, organise, present, and further develop the outputs.

✨ 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀
Mike Burrows is recognised for his pioneering work in 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗻, 𝗔𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗯𝗮𝗻 and his advocacy for participatory and outcome-oriented approaches to change, transformation, and strategy.

He is the founder of Agendashift and the author of 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 (2014) and 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁: 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲-𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (2018). His third book is 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗲𝗳𝘁: the digital leader's guide to Lean and Agile (2019).

Prior to his consulting career, Mike was global development manager and Executive Director at a top tier investment bank, and CTO for an energy risk management startup.
