About the Music: A friendly song circle style gathering for acoustic players geared toward sharing & learning (not performing). All types of acoustic stringed instruments are welcomed. All skill levels are appropriate, from beginner to advanced (as long as you can play a few chords you should be OK). We'll take turns going around the circle leading songs (leading is optional but we strongly encourage you to give it a try, even if you're shy). Bring copies of song sheets for 2 to 4 songs to share if you can!! Please announce your songs (keys and chords) and allow others time to prepare before starting. Music stands and capos are very helpful.

Location: This will be in someone's home, so the location is not published on the meetup website. An email will be sent the day before the event to those who are signed up. Please check to make sure your notification settings allow meetup.com to send you emails. If you don't get the address by the morning of the event, please post something in the comments below and we'll try another way to get it to you.

Refreshments: The host will have some some snacks. Bring more/BYOB if you like.

Attendance limited to 12 acoustic players only. Guests must be participating players. The address will be emailed out the day before the event to all who are signed up. Please make sure your notification settings are set to receive notifications from meetup.com, and pay attention to the comments on this event.

Please keep your RSVP’s up-to-date. This is very important for our meetups. Because we meet in someone's living room/private space, we need to limit attendance and that means there is sometimes a waiting list. So as soon as you know you can't come, please update your RSVP so someone else can come. Even if you change your RSVP at the last minute, often someone else will be able to come.

No-Show Policy: If you are marked as a NO-SHOW (meaning you didn't come but didn't update your RSVP, or comment with an explanation), you may be prohibited from attending future GTLRP events.

Wait-List: If you’re on the waiting list, you will be automatically moved to the list of those attending if a spot opens up based on your order on the wait list. Please check your emails from Meetup as you’ll be notified if you're moved to the attending list. We'll send a last-minute email with address or directions for those who get moved to the attending list at the last minute.

One final note: Please be courteous, polite, and mind your manners at our events. We are in people's homes as guests. This is not the place to sell your product/service, find a date, discuss politics, etc. Inappropriate/inconsiderate behavior/actions - towards the group or any individual - will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to prohibit members from attending GTLRP events if we feel that it is in the group's best interests.
