About us
AI & Analytics over Ales is a Seattle-area community for people who work in AI, analytics, data, BI, data science, data engineering, data product, or one of the approximately 47 new job categories that have appeared since we started this group.
We began life as Business Intelligence Over Beers (BIOB) back in 2010, when "business intelligence" was what we called this stuff and nobody at happy hour was trying to explain what an LLM was.
Then life happened. People moved. The group went quiet. AI took over the world. And now we're back.
The idea, though, hasn't really changed: get interesting people together in an informal setting to meet each other, swap ideas, compare notes, make connections, and occasionally solve all of their company's data problems over a beer. (Results may vary.)
We'll get together monthly-ish at bars, breweries, and restaurants around Seattle and the Eastside, moving between the two sides of the lake when we can.
This isn't a conference, a formal professional association, or a thinly disguised sales event. It's a community for people who like talking about AI, analytics, data, technology, product, and where all of this is going.
If that sounds like your kind of crowd, join us. We're glad to be back.
