Prompt Engineering, Fast Concurrent Applications with Akka

Details

This time we bring you two in-depth talks that expand on subjects that we visited previously: prompt engineering and application perfomance in the cloud.

Talks

Talk 1: LLM Security - Generating Arguments with Large Language Models

During the last few years, prompt engineering has proven promising capabilities to access any information from pre-trained large language models. One use case for this is the automatic generation of arguments. In this presentation we will investigate how to engineer prompts to generate arguments that follow some pre-defined structures. We will focus on models that you can use on a regular gaming GPU and discuss guidelines to improve and compare our resulting prompts.

About the speaker:

He caught the trend early: Focusing on AI since 2015 Christian Staudte did Prompt Engineering before it became mainstream. He joined TNG in 2022 where he is one of the contributors in the push for understanding and using AI.

Talk 2: Akka HTTP in the containerized world

Akka offers a framework for developing concurrent applications running on the JVM. In this talk we will inspect the actor model as implemented by Akka as means to deal with concurrency in IT. We will explore the Akka HTTP module and how to use it. Also we will benchmark a dockerized application and finalize an experience report from our data intensive environment.

About the speaker:

Working at TNG since 2018, Florian Esser acquired a lot of experience servicing, modernizing and scaling enterprise applications. Fluent in Openshift, Kubernetes and AWS his DevOps role gives him the possibility to not only make applications faster and more reliable, but also experience the effects of the improvements in operation.
