Hope everyone had a great holiday! Our next reading session is coming up in three weeks (another month already!), and we'll be reading Human Compatible: Artificial Intelligence and the Problem of Control by Stuart Russell.

I'll always walk through the main questions and themes at the session, but I highly recommend reading at least part of the book beforehand so you can jump into the discussion more easily! If you have any problems accessing the book, feel free to reach out and I'll send you the PDF copy. I'll also post some discussion questions closer to the date so you know what to expect.

One quick heads up on the location: it's a little tricky to find (took me 15 minutes the first time ngl ๐Ÿ˜…). So please DM me or drop a comment when you're nearby and we'll come down to meet you! We may also offer a Zoom option for those who cannot join us in person, and we will let you know once we get more details sorted out.

Also wanted to take a moment to introduce the group for those who are new: we started as a weekly discussion session through the UC San Diego Philosophy Club ๐Ÿ”ฑ After graduation I moved to the Bay Area and continued the tradition, literally in my apartment meeting room lol. Over time my friends and I decided to open it up and bring in more voices from the community, which is how we all ended up here! We welcome all kinds of backgrounds and perspectives, as that's exactly what makes these conversations so meaningful ๐Ÿ™Œ
