After four months in the tech-ethics trenches, we're taking a turn into stranger and more delightful territory of consciousness and the machine mind! Our next reading session will focus on The Mind's I edited by Daniel Dennett and Douglas Hofstadter. It compiles 27 diverse essays and fictional pieces exploring the nature of the self, consciousness, and artificial intelligence. We probably will spread the book into multiple sessions given the sheer volume of discussible topics, so no need to swallow all 27 at once. You will find the reading PDFs in the comment section.

For each reading discussion, I'll spend first 15 min introducing the main frameworks of the book, followed by a Q&A discussion and freeform discussion based on the topic that interested you the most. In this case, we can dive deeper into the book and really hammer down the big questions.

We will be meeting at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library, Room 862. Turn Right after you make it to 8th floor! Let me know if you have any questions and looking forward to see you there :)
