AI Safety Gothenburg

The mission of AI Safety Gothenburg is to promote awareness, education, and involvement in AI safety research and initiatives. We aim to cultivate an engaged network of individuals passionate about ensuring beneficial outcomes as artificial intelligence advances.

We host bi-weekly workshops covering a wide range of topics, including career planning in AI safety, deep dives into research agendas, crash courses on technical concepts, open discussions about the future of AI and its societal impact, and much more.

Our focus is on societal-scale safety concerns regarding AI systems far more powerful than those that exist today, but that might not be very far away. How should such AI systems be designed? Can we ensure sufficient cybersecurity to prevent them from being stolen and misused? Can we avoid a suicidal race between companies and countries? How should AI be regulated to reduce risks while fostering useful and safe AI development?

These might be some of the most pressing questions of our time. AI Safety Gothenburg invites you to join us in addressing them—because the future of AI is something we all share responsibility for shaping.
