What we’re about
Who We Are: Alameda Artists is a Meetup group for all Bay Area Artists and Creatives.
The Alameda Artist Group is for all creative media and practicing at all skill levels. (And you don't have to live in Alameda!) Most meetups are in Alameda but anyone who wants to sketch and draw and make art is welcome. We also have writing meetups, open studio/galleries shows, calls for art, maker space workshops, and many more creative meetups - don't see what you want? Suggest it!
2020 was insane but we managed to keep things going with virtual artist talks and publishing the East Bay Artist 2020 Book
Inspire others or be inspired, learn new techniques to implement or brush up on some old ones. Hone your craft and meet new people with similar interests.
Artist's are currently very active on Facebook, selling work, sharing techniques and cool upcoming art events. Be sure to join us on social media!
Visit us on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/groups/alamedaarti...
Costs: The cost of each class or event will vary depending on supplies needed and the location it is being held. The cost for the class will be announced in the details of that particular event page when the event is created. 2nd Friday Virtual Art Talks are free!
Donations are welcome go to pay for Meetup.com fees, group art shows, snacks, drinks, rent and other various art supplies. Your donations are appreciated! Suggested donation per event is on a sliding scale $5-$10.
Don't let the donation suggestion stop you from coming to an art meetup if it is listed as FREE. We want every artist to have a place that they are welcome. However, paid classes are different and that fee would be required to participate. We are supported by local businesses who sponsor us like Flax and Digifli.
IMPORTANT! If less then 3 members RSVP for a meetup the meetup may be canceled right up to within a few hours before that meetup. Please check back the day of the meetup and look for cancelation notices in your email. We will do our best to inform you that a meetup has canceled asap.
RSVPs
Please do not RSVP unless you really plan on coming so we know how many artists to expect. If you do RSVP and can NOT make it (even at the last minute or after the event has started) please CHANGE your RSVP so we are not waiting for you!
