Alaska Salsa Dancers

This Fun Salsa Program is an 8-week progressive course designed to take dancers step by step from the basics to confident social dancing.

You will learn new skills, building on what you learned in previous classes. After completing this program, we recommend you build on your newly developed skills and progress to our Salsa 2 Immersion Program to learn more and add polish to your new skills.

• Drop-ins are welcome during the first 4 weeks
• Because the material builds each week, the course is closed to new dancers during the final 4 weeks
Perfect for absolute beginners and newer salsa dancers. Classes are fun, relaxed, and welcoming. Partners rotate, so no partner is needed.

We currently offer two Kizomba classes. 6 pm Intro and 8:30 Urban. Both are fun drop-in classes.
Kizomba is a growingly popular dance style in the Latin dance community.

New dancers are encouraged to take the 6 pm class to build their fundamentals before the 8:30 pm class.

This exciting and intimate dance is excellent for strengthening partner connection and practicing musicality.
Kizomba is a romantic genre of music and a beautiful partner dance that developed in Portuguese-speaking Africa from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. It is a fusion of African rhythms and Caribbean Zouk.

For only $10/person you will get a Salsa Footwork Lesson from 9-9:30 pm followed by a Bachata Basics Lesson that goes from 9:30-10 pm. After the classes we will open up the dance floor for dancing until 1:00 in the morning! No experience needed! Get ready for a good time.

Due to Covid19 mandates the following will be required: health questionnaire, temperature confirmation, updated liability form and pre-registration. Cash is accepted however card prepayment is encouraged. Masks are welcome. Free hand sanitizer stations provided. Maximum number of guests in May is 20 dancers.
