Salām (سلام), film fans! Please join us for our second event celebrating Persian food and Iranian movies on Saturday, January 31st.

This time we'll be visiting Termeh Persian Restaurant at 703 Union Street, in Schenectady, at 4:30 p.m. As is customary with Muslim restaurants, they do not serve alcohol. However, I called and they said that it's okay for members to bring their own wine or beer. No hard liquor, please.

Here's Google's intro to Termeh:

"Termeh is a family-owned Persian restaurant in Schenectady, New York, known for authentic, freshly made dishes like kabobs, lamb shank, and unique rice preparations (e.g., Shirin Polow, Albaloo Polow). It offers dine-in, takeout, and table service, with options for lunch, dinner, and dessert, and is praised for its quality, flavor, and friendly service.

Cuisine: Persian/Iranian, featuring traditional dishes like kabobs, stews, and various rice dishes (polows).

Highlights: Popular items include kabobs, lamb shank, and pistachio cake, with reviewers noting the fresh ingredients and authentic flavors.

Service: Offers dine-in, takeout, and table service, with options for lunch and dinner.
Atmosphere: Described as a cozy, family-owned spot with a commitment to quality and service."

We'll leave there and head over to the theater for 2 shorts and a feature film by an Iranian director.

As always, we will provide some snacks/beverages. We only ask for a 5-dollar/person donation. What a bargain!

Please let me know the following:

  • if you're joining us for dinner, the movie, or both.
  • how many people are in your party.

I'm looking forward to seeing you there.
