Stephen King's "Carrie", 1976, @ Proctors GE Theatre.

"Tormented by her classmates and dominated by her fanatically religious mother (Piper Laurie), a shy teenage girl (Sissy Spacek) discovers she possesses terrifying telekinetic powers, powers that awaken in full force on prom night. Brian De Palma's stylish and ferociously effective adaptation of Stephen King's novel remains a landmark of horror filmmaking, anchored by a raw, unforgettable lead performance.

Rated R. 98 minute"
