Looking for something fun to do on Friday night? Come meet new people, practice languages, and make friends at ALM Calgary! 🌎🤝

Welcome to Languages & Beer, our weekly social evening for language lovers, curious minds, and anyone who enjoys meeting people from different backgrounds.
No matter what language you're learning, this is your chance to put your skills into practice, have interesting conversations, and get to know people in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

🗣️ Practise the languages you're learning. Join a table dedicated to your target language and enjoy real conversations with other learners and native speakers.
🤝 Make new friends. Meet people who share your interests, expand your social circle, and discover people you'd love to hang out with again.
🌏 Explore different languages and cultures. Curious about Canadian culture? Learning Japanese? Want to keep your Spanish sharp? There's always something new to discover!
🍻 Enjoy a relaxed Friday evening. Unwind after the week, grab a drink, and enjoy good conversations with good company. Alcohol is entirely optional!
😊 Coming alone? Perfect! Most of our members came to their first ALM event not knowing anybody. When you arrive, introduce yourself to Cody and he'll help get you connected.

## 🗣️ How does it work?

When you RSVP, please indicate:

• The language(s) you'd like to practise

I'll use this information to organize language-specific tables, clearly marked with flags, so you can find the right conversation easily.
Our one main rule: speak the language of the table you're sitting at! This gives everyone a chance to practice and helps keep conversations accessible to people learning that language.
Want to practise more than one language? No problem! Feel free to move between tables throughout the evening.
For the best experience, you should already be able to hold at least a simple conversation in your target language. You don't need to be fluent, and mistakes are part of learning!

## 💛 A few important community guidelines

We want Languages & Beer to be a place where everyone feels welcome, respected, and comfortable.

*Please honour your RSVP. If your plans change, let us know and update your RSVP beforehand. This helps us organize the tables and makes planning easier for everyone.
***Respect everyone's boundaries. **This is a language and social event, people don't come to get hit on. Be friendly and respect people's personal space.
*** Help us maintain a welcoming atmosphere. **Harassment, aggressive behaviour, intimidation, and other conduct that makes attendees feel unsafe or uncomfortable will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event or group.

Repeated no-shows without notice may also result in removal from the group.
