Albuquerque Marxism and Critical Theory Study Group

This is an open group for people who want to read and better understand philosophies of society and social change, especially those with roots in Marxism. We will read and discuss ideas around: the economic roots of oppression, and issues of class, race, and gender. We'll learn what "capitalism" and "NeoLiberalism" are all about, and read writers like Louis Althusser, Herbert Marcuse, Angela Davis, Stuart Hall, Theodor Adorno, Raymond Williams, Wilhelm Reich, Rosa Luxemburg, as well as more accessible contemporary thinkers like Mark Fisher, Nina Power, and David Harvey. We will make time to read and discuss Marx directly as well. This group is for anyone interested. We will plan to meet in person periodically here in Albuquerque.
