About us
A.L.F is a small social and activity group primarily for people in Aldercar, Langley Mill and surrounding areas. Our aim? To improve life locally a little bit at a time. We're not therapy but we're a good second option. 😊
Feeling down, stressed, isolated, ill or recuperating? You are not on your own. Get to know other local people with regular cheap, often free, easy to attend shorter activities in small friendly groups of four to twelve people. We have larger meetings as and when you feel you can attend plus smaller group, well organised holidays or short breaks if you haven't been away for a while.
We aim to be as inclusive as possible including car shares where appropriate. We will endeavour to help you progress your social life locally with a variety events and social occasions all whilst supporting some of our local businesses. You will get out and about, happier, socialising and talking, if only about the rotten weather!
NB. As a volunteer group, we make every effort to ensure you are looked after, safe and welcomed. We endeavour to provide you with information on specific activity requirements i.e. footwear, timings, stops etc where necessary and as best we can in order to support your attendance. Participation in activities is done under your own liability.
A cover photo is appreciated. Accounts inactive for 12 months are deleted.
Note to organisers: Events at ALF are group aim specific, as such we have a smaller window of what we can do and take much planning and research, whilst imitation is the best form of flattery, copying, cutting and pasting is not. Should you wish to copy or 'bounce off' an Aldercar & Langley Event, please have the courtesy to message us first.

Save the date: 'Eanor/Dead Mans Tankard Music & Beer Festival
Heanor Market Place, 29B Market Pl, Heanor DE75 7EG, Heanor, GBYou may remember last year's 'Eanor Music and Beer Festival in July. Its been a bit calamitous this year but it is actually returning but under a different guise or....as it is guises.
Plans are up in the air at the moment but nevertheless the date is set for 25th July, you can follow progress on the Facebook page here: Facebook
We will continue to support these smaller Heanor venues and see how their planning goes. No doubt it will involve some food! Meanwhile SAVE THE DATE!
The H1 runs from Derby and the Rainbow 1 from Notts and Ripley end. From Hucknall the 34 runs through Langley Mill and Ilkeston the 33 or 34, all stop at Heanor Market Place. So seriously get the bus!!! 🤪
