Pottery Piles Sunday Walk (Take 2)
Details
By popular demand, following our first foray to the old Pottery Piles of Langley Mill, we are hosting a second opportunity to discover this little 'pot' of local history.
If you didn't manage it the first time then you can join us for a local Langley Mill walk with a difference. This is a short walk but you will be exploring the old pottery sites in Langley Mill, subsequently owned by Denby Pottery, and doing your own little excavation.
Denby pottery now finds itself under administration, suffering from the likes of the energy crisis currently crossing the country. Help us to keep the heritage of the area alive for the benefit of the future folks of the area.
We will be walking to find the old pottery dump sites and exploring these in the local area and by the nearby canals. The walk is not long but will require good footwear, sensible to walking on some rough ground and potentially muddy.
Bring your cameras, the dog and a trowel........
Meet at The hub for a cuppa before leaving at 10.15. Return to the hub around 12.30/1pm.
Park in Asda carpark and walk across to the hub. Car can stay in Asda car park or you have 2 hours in the Acorn Centre next to the hub. Rainbow 1 available to drop off at the hub and pick up at the pub.
