Widewater State Park
Details
Let's go for an easy hike at Widewater State Park!
❶ What we'll do:
- From the parking lot in front of the Visitor Center, we'll walk west and south to the paddle launch, and then west and north along the boat launch road to pick up Long Pond Trail on the west boundary of the park. From there we'll continue east along Long Pond and Holly Marsh trails to the Potomac. After a short pit stop near the river overlook, we'll return to the Visitor Center area along Willow Oak Lane, Brent Point Road, and Long Pond Trail.
- The hike is a loop of about 2.5 miles and should only take a little over an hour at a moderate pace, with maybe some extra time for photography. (We won't be in a hurry.) The hike route is fairly level throughout and a combination of paved and dirt trails.
