Samhain with the Southern Temple of Mother Isis
A free public gathering
We are The Southern Temple of Mother Isis, a group of Alexandrian Traditional Witches based here on Gadigal land, Sydney. This coming early May, we invite you to honour Samhain with us; the Witch’s New Year and sacred threshold between the worlds.
In the Northern Hemisphere, Samhain falls at the end of October. But here in the South, it is now, when the light fades, and the greens wither. It is the time when the veil grows thin.
This ritual is for anyone who seeks to align with the turning of the Wheel, to honour the dead, and to reflect on the truth all things must face; that everything ends, and through that ending, something new may be reborn.
We will be hosting a Dumb Supper, a silent meal in reverence of those who have passed. During this time, we eat quietly, leaving a place at the table for our beloved dead. It is a simple and powerful act of remembrance and presence.
Please bring:
-
A plate of food (cooked by yourself) and drink to share. This is a free event, offered from our time and hearts, so we ask the public to bring something in kind.
-
A photo or sentimental object of a loved one who has crossed the veil. We will create a sacred space where these spirits are honoured and welcomed into the circle.
-
A torch or lantern. It will be dark, and we are in a public park—light will help us see and feel safe.
Bring a pillow or blanket to sit on too! :)
IMPORTANT!!
You mustt RSVP so we know the numbers, if you bring a guest, please tell them to bring food and drink too.
This gathering is open to the public. You don’t need to be Alexandrian or initiated to attend. Just come with respect, warmth, and something for the table.
Blessings to the Dead and the Living,
The Southern Temple of Mother Isis
