All Terrain Walkers

We will meet in Conwy, transfer everyone to Llyn Ogwen and walk back.

After a relatively gentle start around the back of the lake, there's a big climb up to the Carneddau ridge, topping out on Carnedd Llewellyn at 1,064 metres. After that it's mostly downhill, but with a few more lumps on the way, to Conwy.

It's a long one with plenty of ascent, so you need to be pretty fit and used to hill-walking.

31 km and 1,600m of ascent (19 miles and about 5,200 ft).

A gentle start before a couple of short steepish climbs on the way to Flounders' Folly, on Callow Hill. Down into Hope Dale and the hamlet of Westhope before a fairly gentle climb onto Wenlock Edge. Stroll along the Edge and down to Strefford and finish with a flat meander beside Quinny Brook and the River Onny back to Craven Arms.

About 11 miles, with 1,400 feet of ascent

Meet at 9.45 for a 10.00 am start.

We start off a bit cross country, before taking on Builthy Hill and Middletown Hill. Then it's down to Middletown itself and a short stretch beside the A458 to get to the start of the climb up to Moel-y-Golfa.
From there we head across for the final climb up to Rodney's Pillar and then back down to the cars.

9 - 10 miles with 2,750 ft of ascent, some of it quite steep (and a couple of steep descents too).
Should be a lovely autumn walk, with great views (weather permitting).
