About us
Founded in 1931, the Allentown Hiking Club is a Pennsylvania nonprofit with membership in the Keystone Trails Association, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, and the Lehigh Gap Nature Center.
We maintain 10.3 miles of the Appalachian Trail, including one backcountry shelter, the Allentown Shelter (north of New Tripoli).
We offer hikes and other outdoor events which are open to the general public and led by experienced club members and other local experts. We have a plethora of different events of all different skill levels.
Along with our larger weekend hikes, we have midweek hikes that are both social strolls, and more adventurous workout hikes.
We meet up to hike to local free concerts, have organized bike rides, water fun events, winter sports & more. Check out our calendar to see what we have coming up. We hope to see you at an upcoming event!
More information on the club can be found on our main website https://www.allentownhikingclub.org/
