About us
We are a group of riders that enjoy and are very passionate about mountain biking and all aspects of it. We believe in riding within a group for camaraderie, fun, knowledge and most importantly safety while out on the trails. Everyone that starts a ride with us will finish. Struggling or been off the bike for a while? No Worries!! The group who shows up to ride will always determine the pace. We will make sure everyone that shows up to ride has a fun and enjoyable time. We want to help you get better, faster and stronger! You get out of mountain biking as much or as little as you put into it!!
Many of our rides take place on the beautiful trails that Orange County has to offer. Additionally we are now starting to expand and offer rides in LA area, the Inland Empire and all the way down to San Diego County. Some of our favorite spots to ride are Fullerton Loop, Santiago Oaks, Whiting Ranch, Aliso and Woods Canyon and El Moro (Crystal Cove), Sycamore Canyon, Box Springs, Skyline, Chino Hills State Park, Big Bear and so on. In addition to this we occasionally will plan weekend getaways, as well as hit up trails that other places in So Cal and beyond have to offer.
So what are you waiting for? Come and judge for yourself. We encourage and welcome anyone and everyone to join us on our rides. Have ideas or want to ride somewhere? Drop us a line and we’ll make it happen.
"Sleep. Work. Eat. Ride and Repeat!"

🐿️🪂 04/01 Flying the Flake: Squirrel Suit BASE Jumping at Paria Canyon 🐿️🪂
Location not specified yetLocation: Paria Canyon, Arizona (Exact coordinates emailed after RSVP: safety first, secrecy second)
Ever wanted to combine the thrill of mountain biking with the sheer terror of BASE jumping? Now’s your chance! Join AMTR and Phoenix Fly Ambassadors for our first-ever “Flying the Flake” adventure: strap on a wingsuit, launch off the iconic Paria Canyon cliffs, and soar like a caffeinated flying squirrel over the Arizona desert.
Requirements:
- Must be an expert mountain biker with mastery in braking, cornering, climbing, and descending at top speed.
- Must have zero fear of death (or strong life insurance coverage).
- Must enjoy fresh desert air… from 1,000 feet above.
Phoenix Fly Ambassadors will provide wingsuit coaching, but honestly ... your own adrenaline may be the best teacher.
Remember: speed is optional, survival is mandatory (probably).
What to bring:
- Helmet (a very small one, or a very large one, wingsuit aerodynamics vary).
- Snacks for the landing (in case you’re hungry mid-flight).
- A signed waiver and an emergency contact for next of kin.
- Optional GoPro: You’ll want this footage for bragging rights (or your funeral slideshow).
LIABILITY RELEASE & WAIVER
If you are new to AMTR, please bring a signed waiver to the event or email it to AMTR.Meetup@gmail.com. If you do not sign a waiver, you will not be allowed to join. If you attempt to sneak in anyway, you may be immediately ejected from the canyon by trained desert squirrels.DISCLAIMER (Read Carefully, Then Update Your Life Insurance)
The Organizer, Assistant Organizers, Volunteers, Ride Leaders, and Event Organizers are absolutely not professional BASE jump guides. By signing up, you acknowledge:- You are aware of the extreme risks of launching yourself off a cliff in a squirrel suit, including, but not limited to, broken bones, temporary flight, or permanent un-flight.
- You assume all risks, including those associated with flying squirrels judging your landing skills.
- You will not hold AMTR, Phoenix Fly Ambassadors, or any squirrels liable for injuries, death, or existential panic.
- A signed waiver may not protect your ego, but it should absolve AMTR leadership from any and all liability due to your untimely death.

🚴 04/01 WED 3:00 PM | SLIM SHADY (SEDONA) | ADVANCED BLUE 🚴
Location not specified yetDistance 5 miles // Elevation 1,000+ feet
Meetup won’t let me post a location, but we will be meeting at the Yavapai Vista trailhead.
NOTE: Sedona miles are no ordinary miles! Due to the combination of rugged terrain, rocky technical sections, and frequent elevation changes, a single mile in Sedona can feel like 1.5–2 miles elsewhere. The term is a nod to the extra effort required to navigate the challenging trails, particularly when the climbs are steep, the rocks are chunky, and the descents demand precision. You should be prepared for these “extra tough” miles and pace yourself accordingly.
ROUTE DESCRIPTION
Arrive in Sedona and start out with what is possibly the most fun trail in the entire network. Slim Shady is a (mostly) downhill trail that touches on all the features Sedona is known for - chunky rock steps, dry creek beds, slickrock (which isn’t slick at all) with natural beauty and amazing views everywhere. It’s a great trail to get to know Sedona, and it has relatively little exposure, a nice touch for the first day. After Slim Shady, we will make our way back up to the trailhead at the Yavapai Vista, an area where you can get stunning photos of the valley below, and play around on what feels like a natural skills course - tons of rock steps, boulders and rock features perfect for practice technical climbing, rock rolls, etc…ADVANCED BLUE
You have a strong understanding and practice with the skills of braking, shifting, cornering, and descending. You are able to navigate variable terrain at a good pace. You are confident and comfortable riding singletrack trails and can easily navigate roots, rocks, mud, sand, and creek crossings. You are capable of a front wheel and rear wheel lift and can put the two together to navigate over obstacles. You are fairly confident on steep climbs and descents, but you may walk sections on trails that are rated Black or Double Black.LINK TO AMTR RIDING LEVELS CHART

🚴 04/01 WED 3:00 PM | ADOBE JACK (SEDONA) | BLUE LEVEL 🚴
Location not specified yetDistance 7 miles // Elevation 1,000 feet
The Adobe Jack trails in Central Sedona are a great warm up to Sedona riding and a favorite "chill" ride for locals ranging in difficulty between blue and light black. We will start by climbing Adobe Jack to check out Devil's Sinkhole at Soldier's Pass and then climb up to Ant Hill for stunning 360 degree views of Central and West Sedona.
BLUE LEVEL
You have a strong understanding of shifting up and down through the gears. You can brake appropriately on descents and you maintain a comfortable and sturdy stance on controlled climbs and descents. You are confident to ride through a variety of technical features (roots, rocks, tight turns,) although you are most comfortable at a slow and controlled pace.LINK TO AMTR RIDING LEVELS CHART
