Altamonte Springs Community Book Store Read Along Group

We have two types of opportunities to get deep into book reading at the store.

A Book Discussion Group With All the Standard Trimmings
A book is chosen to discuss.
You read the book at home take notes or just absorb it.
Come join us on the scheduled evenings/afternoons and participate in a lightly facilitated discussion around the story.
The discussion can get as deep as the group wants.
Talk about how the reading went, what you think of the book and if it had some sort of an impact on you ... discuss what you know about the author. and how you relate to the story. You don't have to read the whole book to participate. We tend to break it up into segments.

We will schedule them as a book inspires us or a group of folks really want to get together. Give us a call. We can make it happen.

A Read Along Book Club
Once a week - Tuesday evenings around 7PM join us at Shelf Life Books & Gifts to read aloud through a novel.

It is like grown up bedtime stories or a book group, where you do not need to read ahead of time. We read the book aloud together, over the course of several weeks.

You can join us and take a turn at reading, or sit back and enjoy being read to.
Each reader will get one to two pages a turn. How many turns depends on the number in attendance.

We will read for 30 minutes or so and take a break. And then read another 20 or 30 minutes as we feel compelled.

We go on till around 8PM.

We reserve the right to cap the attendance if we deem it necessary. So for sure, first come, first served, for now.
