This Halloween, one of Amai Comedy Club’s favourite regular comedians is returning to Ghent, and he’s bringing some of his funny friends with him.
Indian-born Dutch comedian Karan Karthik has built a special connection with Amai and its audiences over the years. Ghent has always embraced his provocative honesty, unpredictable storytelling and unapologetically personal comedy and Karan has always loved coming back.
Known for turning cultural identity, racism, mental health, modern relationships and his unconventional polyamorous household into comedy, Karan’s shows are sharp, intimate and frequently inappropriate. He has performed more than 500 times and taken his solo shows across the Netherlands, Belgium and the rest of Europe.
For this special Halloween edition, Karan has invited a hand-picked lineup of comedy friends to join him. Expect dark confessions, frighteningly honest stories, fresh material, contrasting comedy styles and the beautifully chaotic energy that appears when a group of comedians takes over a room on Halloween night.
Costumes are encouraged but certainly not required.
Ghent has shown Karan plenty of love before. Now he’s inviting the city back for a Halloween reunion filled with laughter, uncomfortable truths and jokes that may continue haunting you long after the show.

Ann Vaida - Ann Vaida, a comedian from Estonia based in Belgium, has changed her high-stakes work in the backrooms of politics and PR to the even higher-stakes work of making other people laugh. She loves the absurdities and weirdness of life and will point it out every chance she gets. Her jokes are like a puzzle that you playfully put together and the range of topics is wide – from walking in a park to what the hell is being a human really about.
Anja Silva - Anja Silva is a walking paradox: Russian-American, part golden retriever, part emo scream queen. Her divine mission is to bring the darkness kicking and screaming into the light. A regular in the belgium comedy scene Anja has been playing all over the country and audience always love her. She recently launched her debut novel "A petty revenge" and has been also doing book tours that turn out to be funny :)
