Description: Feel the burn early in the season when you need it! Join us for an early morning of skinning at Mount Wachusett. This is the final installment of our initial series of morning skins (12/12; 12/19; 1/9), but you don't have to attend all them all. Wachusett requires uphill travelers to purchase a season uphill pass. Please do so online before attending . Uphill travel is allowed before chair lifts begin operating at 9, so we'll meet in the parking lot at 6:30 with a goal of boots on, skins on, packs on, by 6:45. We'll likely do one lap up and down Conifer (approximately 1 mile and 1000' of vertical gain) a second, optional, lap up Ralph's run (approximately 1/2 mile and 400' of vertical gain).
This is not an instructional event. Participants should be familiar with uphill travel and the use of their gear (AT, telemark, or split board). We'll be skinning a minimum of 1400 vertical feet of climbing.
The Conifer trail is rated as intermediate and hits 20 degrees of slope in some spots so this will be a fairly vigorous climb Ralph's Run is rated as a beginner trail so is not quite as steep and an enjoyable way to finish off the morning
