Audience: Adults

Description: Intermediate nordic skiers, please join us for a 5-8 mile ski through ungroomed and untracked ("backcountry") woods in Central Massachuseutts. If there is insufficient snow, the activity will be held as a 3.5-5.5 mile hike. Local conditions can vary so please bring equipment for both activities so that a decision can be made upon arrival at the trailhead. Leaders will share skills on how to identify animal prints and signs. Participants should have skis waxed and gear ready for departure promptly after gathering at 10 AM. Intermediate skiers should be able to comfortably ski, change directions, descend hills, and ascend hills, without leader instruction. The leader's small friendly dog will be joining the activity. Leaders will e-mail participants a minimum of 36 hours prior to trip time with start location and any additional details.
