Description: Please join us for a paddling community event on the Charles River at the Newton Boathouse Parking Lot and Boat Launch to celebrate the AMC Boston Chapter 50th Anniversary. Drop by between 12-5pm and look for the AMC sign. Learn about AMC's paddling activities and how you can get more involved. We'll have some kayaks to demo and answer questions about the paddling activities and instructionals we do. Or if you are seeking advice about associated boats and gear or local venues to paddle, we'll have some people to ask. If you'd like to demo one of our boats, you will need appropriate clothing and shoes for swimming, sign a release form, and be fitted to a PFD (life jacket) which must be worn while paddling. If needed, we will help you adjust the boat and show how to launch and paddling basics.
For existing whitewater, sea kayaking and flatwater paddlers, bring your boat and meet other paddlers on the water. Otherwise if you can also just meet up and socialize and talk about plans this summer. More people = more fun.
