New people are always welcome! Registration is appreciated for numbers and communication purposes. However, I can sign in any unregistered people at the start, feel free to send me an email if you want to bring a friend. Any final notes and weather cancellations will be emailed to registered participants 1-3 days before. Would like to bring a well-behaved dog? Prefer there not to be a dog on the hike for any reason? Please coordinate with the leader in advance. The hike end time could be a little earlier, but I am padding it so that there is no rush if we want to take our time and enjoy the views more.
What to bring:
Footwear/water for 3.5 miles on trails.
Snacks as needed.
Warm clothing/ layers for the season.
Headlamp / light source recommended just in case.
Directions:
We will meet at the Orange Street Canoe Launch next to the bridge across Mill River and also near Wilbur Cross High School. There is lots of free street parking, though we could have to park a little further away on a Sunday afternoon.

About
Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club is a non-profit organization that promotes the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the mountains, forests, waters, and trails of America’s Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The word "club" by no means implies exclusivity: AMC is a welcoming community where people of all backgrounds can come together and enjoy the outdoors. The Connecticut Chapter of AMC is active across the state and volunteers organize hundreds of activities annually. The CT Young Members Committee is geared towards participants who identify as in their 20s & 30s. For more information please review this document. Some goals of the 20s & 30s group is to add more frequent activities and expand into multi-day adventures such as camping trips, hostels, backpacking, and destination trips that build community and lasting friendships.
