Description: Join the Narragansett 20s and 30's on a hike at Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge in Middletown, Rhode Island. This 3-mile loop is a popular trail right by the ocean, so you can count on fantastic views. You will also likely be able to see some of the many plant and animal species that the wildlife refuge works hard to protect!
Participants can expect to move at a quick 2-3 mile pace for the duration of the hike. The trail itself is flat and gravel, but we'll take advantage of some places in the trail that let us head down to the beach, so be prepared for sand and rocks.
Participants should bring: At least 1 liter of water A light snack (optional) Insect repellent (even with the ocean breeze, bugs will find a way) Sunscreen (the foliage is what you'd expect by a beach, so there isn't much shade) An extra layer of clothing (the ocean breeze can lower the temperature quite a bit)
After the hike, we'll head out for an optional meal nearby.
Details about parking and the specific meetup location will be sent to registered participants the day before the hike.
We hope to see you there!
Note: This is a 20s & 30s affinity event, but all are welcome. If you don’t identify with this age group, we trust that you’ve reviewed our allyship guidelines, taken the time to reflect, and are committed to our Code of Conduct. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
