Let the rustling leaves settle your thoughts and the sweeping views lift your spirit—
this mindful woodland walk is for 20s and 30s seeking presence, connection, and a quiet touch of wonder.
Tucked into the hills of Tiverton, Rhode Island, Fort Barton is more than just a historic site—it’s a space where forest trails, flowing brooks, and Revolutionary echoes remind us that the past and present still meet in the trees.
This 83-acre natural refuge winds through canopy-covered paths, peaceful streams, and a hillside lookout toweroffering panoramic views of Narragansett Bay. It's a space where birds sing from the branches, wooden bridges guide your steps, and each turn invites you to slow down and notice.
Though just a short drive from Newport or Fall River, Fort Barton feels miles from hurry—a place to ground your feet, clear your mind, and walk with intention.
🌿 Expect wooded peace and gentle awe:
A forest loop with ferns, hardwoods, and gentle stream crossings
Elevated views of Mount Hope Bay from the historic lookout tower
Curving trails dotted with stone steps, roots, and bridges
Time to connect inwardly and with others along the path
Possibility of seeing the sunset from the highest point of this trail, where you can see part of the bay if the weather permits and there’s no rain in the distance.
