Description: Join the Narragansett Chapter 20s & 30s group as we hike the Breakhart Pond and Shelter Loop trail. This brisk 7-mile hike will take us by the Breakhart pond, dams, streams, rock walls, wooden bridges, and more. With the slow change of the leaves this year, we're hoping that we'll still be able to see some great fall colors as well.
What to Bring Blaze orange vest (required by law so that you are visible to hunters) At least 2 liters of water A light snack (optional) Insect repellent (mosquitos and gnats won't be an issue, but ticks will be on the prowl until the weather has dropped below freezing) Multiple layers of clothing so that you can cool down/warm up needed Sturdy shoes, preferably hiking boots After the Hike After we're finished hiking, we'll head over to a nearby restaurant for a bite to eat. This is optional and will likely add another 1.5 hours to the total trip time.
Other Information We'll send the meetup location, the restaurant details, and other information to registered participants the day before the hike.
We're looking forward to hiking with you!
Carlos & Lauren (co-leads)
