Description: Join the Narragansett Chapter 20s & 30s for a day on the slopes! Killington Resort is the largest ski resort in the northeast, so you can expect trails and conditions for all skill levels. This late in the season, you'll also find better snow conditions than in most of southern New England.
Skiing & Boarding
We often have people of varying skill levels sign up, so while we'd love to ski/board in a large group, we understand that this may not be possible. Participants are therefore welcome to head off on their own. Just remember to join us for lunch around 1:00 PM!
Check out the Killington trail map here.
Cost
Lift tickets are around $200 and should be purchased in advance online here. For those coming from Rhode Island, there is a ski bus company that offers both tickets and transportation for a lower price. See Ski Bus section below.
Ski Bus
Killington is in northern Vermont, around 4 hours from Rhode Island. Trip participants are invited to travel to Killington via a ski bus that leaves from a Park & Ride lot from Warwick. The bus leaves at 5:00 AM, arrives at the mountain around 10:00, and departs at 4:30 PM after the lifts close. The cost is $160 for the bus and includes lift tickets; tickets for the bus only are $70.
See more details and sign up here .
Rentals
Rental equipment is available for around $100 at Killington. See details here. We recommend that you rent equipment from a local ski store before the trip. Not only will it be cheaper, but you'll be able to make the most of your expensive lift ticket by head directly to the chair after arrival.
If you're taking the ski bus, they offer discounted rentals. Please read the fine print on their website (linked in the Ski Bus section above).
Beginners
If you do not have any or much experience, we kindly request that you purchase full day lessons or that you come with a friend who can accompany you on the slopes. While Killington has plenty of beginner terrain, trip leaders will not be acting as teachers or instructors. If you are a beginner, you are invited to check out our Wachusett Mountain ski trips for an experience more catered to your skill level.
