Description: Join the Narragansett 20s/30s on a weekend camping at Burlingame State Park in Charlestown, RI . The park is conveniently located near a variety of beaches and nature preserves, but is also home to Watchaug Pond, where participants can swim, paddle, or hike. There are variable length loops (many options from 1-2 miles to 11 miles) around the pond for hiking, along with a picnic area and beach. The state beach East Beach is also a short 5 minute drive away, and we've spent some time there on past trips. The leaders will likely be leading hikes and beach trips, but there is no set agenda for the weekend, and participants are welcome to make their own.
Participants are required to pay $10.00 for attending a single day or $15.00 for both days. Participants will be called after they register to determine what day(s) they are able to attend and to handle payment. After this, participants will have their registration confirmed.
12:15 pm Friday - 11:00 am Saturday - $10.00 12:15 pm Saturday - 11:00 am Sunday - $10.00 12:15 pm Friday - 11:00 am Sunday - $15.00
Participants should also budget at least $5 per night if they'd like to use the campground's coin-operated showers.
Due to restrictions on vehicle access within the campground, participants will meet at a designated location nearby and carpool into the site. Please pack accordingly.
A full packing list of camping essentials will be provided upon confirmation of attendance. A preliminary list is provided below. Participants should plan to bring their own food, as the campground is somewhat remote and local amenities are limited.
