Description: Join the Narragansett young members for a day exploring tiny Rose Island in the middle of Narragansett Bay. We will meet in Jamestown in the morning and enjoy the 15 minute ride to the island. Once there, take the opportunity to get a tour of the lighthouse and Fort Hamilton barracks, or enjoy the beach. The island is small enough to walk around the perimeter, however sections of the island are closed off during the summer months to protect nesting grounds. Bird watching will likely be a great activity while there. Participants should plan to pack in/out any lunch and/or snacks they may need as the island does not offer food or drinks.

The Ferry ticket is $32 and Rose Island admission is $12, please plan to purchase in advance . Once your registration is complete, a leader will reach out to you to provide the ferry departure time so you can buy your ticket. For more information on fares and to purchase, please visit:

Please note that if you purchase your ticket and decide you can't make the event any longer, your ticket purchase is subject to the cancellation policy put forth by the Jamestown ferry service.

Bring your book, your beach chair, whatever else you need to enjoy a relaxing day on this tiny island, perfect for a summer weekend!
