Description
The Narragansett Trail is a Historic Trail that was once lost to housing development and highway construction. The Narragansett Chapter AMC has been working for year, through the Narragansett Trail Restoration Project, a sub committee of our Trails Committee to restore the Trail as closely as possible to the original path. This Earth Day Trails Day, we will be gathering at the Long Pond Parking area for a day of trail work to make sure the Trail is in tip top shape for the AMC150 celebratory hike on 6/6/26. Volunteers will be doing a variety of tasks. We'll be brushing and clearing branches, refreshing Trail blazes, installing new Trail signs, while our crew of Sawyers works in advance clearing any large blowdowns. We'll have snacks in the morning, but volunteers are encouraged to bring water and brown bag lunch. Rain date is planned for 4/25/26 with the rain date announcement going out by 4pm Friday 4/24/26.
