20s/30s Schuylkill River Trail & Boxers’ Trail Hike

Join us for a fall afternoon hike along the Schuylkill River Trail and into Fairmount Park along the historic Boxers Trail. We will meet at Lloyd Hall and walk up the Schuylkill River Trail (paved) where we'll enjoy great views of the river and the colorful trees and sculptures along the trail. We will cut into Fairmount Park where we'll walk the wooded, rocky, (and hilly) Boxers Trail, passing historic mansions and gardens. Anticipated hike distance 4.5 - 5.5 miles, anticipated hike time 2 - 2.5 hours. Those interested can gather at Cosmic Cafe and Ciderhouse (right next to Lloyd Hall) for a post hike drink or snack. Steady rain cancels, check status by 9am the day of the hike or contact leader. Dress in layers for the weather, bring along water and snacks for a few hours on the trail.

Parking info - there is free street parking on Sedgley Drive which intersects Kelly Drive/Boathouse Row right at Lloyd Hall. You can google map to Sedgley Drive Street Parking. Alternatively, there are paid lots in the area.
